Welcome to the School of Mathematics/Computer Science/Physics

In addition to the core subjects of  Mathematics,  Computer Science and  Physics, the range of subjects at the School of Mathematics/Computer Science/Physics includes  Geoinformatics,  Systems Science and  Embedded Software Systems. 36 professorships and a total of around 160 academic staff, 37 employees in technical and administrative services and around 2000 students in numerous degree programs make it a lively teaching and research area. Around 170 doctoral students conduct research in the institute's own research areas and numerous research centers and graduate colleges as part of interdisciplinary and non-university collaborations.

Information day on 13.06.2025

Pupils are invited to the Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics Information Day. Members of the teaching units provide information about studying.  The “Market of Opportunities” and numerous workshops provide insights into studying and the time afterwards.

12 Pupils from Osnabrück grammar schools chose computer scienceto into the world of algorithmsen introduce to . Unfortunately, Cocktail Sort was not about delicious drinks, but "only" about sorting with the help of algorithms.

MINT Summer Academy

The Osnabrück Student Research Center organizes the annual STEM Summer Academy. In the mathematics course, eleven students worked on problems involving parquetry: Which pentagons can be used to lay out the plane without gaps?

Future Day 2025

If you get too excited, you might need a cookie to calm you down. Students from sixth to ninth grade were given an insight into the world of computers. Looking through VR glasses caused a lot of excitement.
