Bachelor's Degree Programs (two subjects) - admission restricted

When applying, please ensure that you choose the appropriate Bachelor's degree program (two subjects) for your intended (professional) goal:

  • Bachelor of Vocational Education = Vocational Teacher Education
  • Bachelor of Education and Teaching = Primary and Secondary Teacher Education (Grund-, Haupt- und Realschule)
  • Dual-subject Bachelor = Secondary Teacher Education (Gymnasium) or subject-specific orientation

Some subjects of these Bachelor's degree courses (two subjects) are subject to admission restrictions at Osnabrück University, as demand exceeds the number of spots available and not all applicants can be offered a study spot due to lack of capacity.

For orientation, please find the  selection limits of recent years. These selection limits are the result of the existing admission restrictions and reflect the rankings up to which applicants could be offered a spot.

The admission restriction also applies to higher semesters.

The application periods are basically the same - however, the application modalities and selection criteria differ, which are shown below for each semester.

Please pay attention to which degree programs/subjects are subject to  admission restrictions.

Important!

Your application for admission is considered to be restricted as soon as only one of your desired partial degree programs/subjects is restricted. If the second partial degree program/subject is admission-free, the above-mentioned  application period applies to both!

Please note the  language skills required for English Studies/English, Latin, Romance Studies/French, Economics and Business Administration and Economics as well as information on the  entrance test to be taken in Art and Music.

Higher Semester

Study Spots in a higher semester can only be allocated within the scope of capacity. The decisive factor here is whether the abvailable spots in accordance to the current admissions regulations are (still) occupied in the higher semester.

Please note that in the case of a valid application, you can only be enrolled in the higher semester applied for if the office responsible for you issues a corresponding placement recommendation and you submit this to the Admissions Office. You will receive information on where to obtain the placement recommendation in your letter of admission - the placement recommendation is therefore not yet required for the application. In order to receive a placement recommendation, it is necessary to have already completed relevant courses in the desired subject.

Here you will find further  information on the procedure for admission to a higher semester and the placement recommendation/credit transfer of academic achievements as well as the relevant forms.

Urgent recommendation!
Before transferring to Osnabrück University, please  contact the respective academic advisors/deans of studies to clarify which achievements can be credited and whether practical entry into the higher semester is possible without any problems or loss of time.
